May 11, 2023
On the 12th May each year, there is a focus on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), a day dedicated to learning about the chronic fatigue syndrome and raising awareness of it.
ME can be a long-term, complex medical condition, something some of our customers live with, and is still not fully understood. The chronic fatigue affects multiple body systems and everyone differently. ME’s unexplained and frequently incapacitating fatigue differs from that caused by regular strenuous ongoing exertion and is not significantly relieved by rest.
It can impact someone’s daily activities, family, social life and work or education, and those living with ME are unlikely to be seen at their worst because debilitating symptoms prevent them from leaving their home.
